HANOI (Yonhap News) ― Two South Koreans have been arrested on charges of raping two Japanese women in the Philippine province of Cebu, a news report said Tuesday.

Prosecutors in Lapu-Lapu city of Cebu filed rape charges against the two Koreans, whose names were not identified, on Monday, ABS-CBN news of the Philippines reported on its Web site.

According to the report, the rape suspects met the two Japanese women at a resort in Lapu-Lapu city last Saturday and went out to have drinks. When the women got drunk, they were brought to a motel in the city and the four people shared one room, the report said, citing an investigation by local police.

The unconscious victims were allegedly raped and were left at the motel and a Filipino friend of the victims sought police help, the report said.

A medical examination found that the women were found to have been abused, it said.
