Danielle Reeves, 24, began her 45-month prison sentence on Monday for leaving her one-year-old son alone to drown in a bathtub.

Reeves left her sons Frankie-Joe, 1, and Alfie, 2, at home and went to her neighbor’s for a drink. When Alfie called for his mother, she shouted at him to turn on the shower to amuse himself and continued to drink more wine.

When Reeves returned home 50 minutes later, she found her younger son Frankie-Joe lifeless in the bathtub of her apartment.

The prosecutor of Guildford Crown Court said, “She suggested that the older brother had dunked Frankie-Joe in the bath.” The judge ruled Reeves as guilty, saying, “The degree of culpability in this case was high. There must be an immediate term of imprisonment.”

As the judge convicted her of gross and criminal neglect, she pleaded with the court by admitting an acquitted murder incident that occurred six years ago.

Reeves, then 18, was charged and laterer acquitted in the murder of a 30-year-old man who died in an act of “Happy Slapping." Happy Slapping is an act of assaulting random people and recording it, which was once popular in the U.K.

법정이 그녀에게 태만죄로 형을 선고하자, 그녀는 육 년 전에 무죄로 풀려난 살인 사건의 범인이 사실은 자신이라고 밝히며 애원하기에 이르렀다.

다니엘은 육 년 전, 영국 전 지역에서 유행한 묻지마 범죄인 “해피 슬래핑”에 연루되어 30세 남자를 살인했다는 혐의를 받았지만, 무죄로 풀려난 적 있다.
