Merck Advanced Technologies, the Korean affiliate of Germany-based chemical and pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA, announced Thursday the winners of its “Merck Award” and “Merck Young Scientist Award” during the 2012 International Meeting of Information at Daegu EXCO.
The 18 winners for the Merck Award included a team composed of Hyun Woo-jin of KAIST and three other scientists with the entry “Solution-Processible Corrugated Structure and Scattering Layer for Enhanced Light Extraction from Organic Light-Emitting Diodes.”
The nine winners for the Merck Young Scientist Award included a five-member team of Park Se-yeob of Inha University with the entry “Improvement in the Negative bias Stability of Indium Zinc Oxide TFTs by Oxygen High Pressure Annealing.”
The Merck awards were established in 2004 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of starting research & development into liquid crystals within Merck. The awards honor outstanding scientific contributions to display technologies.
