A 19-year-old man was arrested after allegedly driving over a tent at an Australian campground and injuring a family of four sleeping inside, officials said.

The man, whose name was not reported, left a party near the campground in Kiama Saturday night and lost control of his vehicle before driving through a fence and running over the family's tent, The Daily Telegraph, Sydney, reported.

Authorities said the driver had a blood-alcohol reading of 0.174.

Seven-year-old Emily Wilson and her brother, Oscar, 4, were dragged for several feet and had to be pulled out from underneath the car, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

Emily suffered a collapsed lung and a broken ankle and Oscar had bruising and burns.

Their father, Bruce, was treated for a fractured pelvis and their mother, Gill, has a collapsed lung as well as spinal and rib injuries, officials said. None of the injuries are life-threatening.

The suspect was charged with two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of causing bodily harm by misconduct while driving. His license was confiscated. (UPI)

‘캠프장 난입’ 텐트에서 잠자던 일가족 덮쳐

호주의 캠프장에서 10대 남성이 차로 텐트를 덮쳐 안에서 잠자고 있던 일가족 4명이 부상을 입었다.

이름이 밝혀지지 않은 이 피의자는 토요일 밤 (현지시각) 카아마 지역에서 파티를 하고 돌아오던 길에 차량이 제어력을 잃어 울타리를 뚫고, 피해 가족의 텐트까지 진입했다고 현지 언론이 전했다.   

경찰은 사고 당시 운전자의 혈중 알코올 농도가 0.714였다고 말했다.

피해자 가족의 두 남매 에밀리 윌슨(7)과 동생인 오스카 윌슨(4)은 사고 차량에 수 미터를 깔린 채 끌려간 것으로 밝혀졌다.

아버지 브루스는 골반이 골절 됐으며, 어머니 질은 폐가 파손되고 척추와 갈비뼈에도 부상을 입었다. 가족 전원이 부상을 입었지만 생명을 위협하는 정도의 심각한 부상은 아닌 것으로 알려졌다.

피의자는 가중 위험 운전으로 상해를 입힌 혐의와 운전 중 불법행위(음주)로 구속됐으며 면허증은 압수된 상태다.
