K-pop group EXO’s main dancer Lay, a Chinese national, is set to debut as a solo artist in China, the boy band’s management agency S.M. Entertainment announced Friday.

Lay’s album “Lose Control” will be released on Oct. 28 on Xiami Music, a subsidiary of Ali Music Group, the music arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, and on major Korean music streaming sites, S.M. said.

The album consists of six songs in Chinese, all written, composed and arranged by Lay.

A song from the album titled “What U Need?” pre-released on Oct. 7 is currently topping the Xiami Music charts.

In May, Lay released a solo track titled “Monodrama” on S.M. Entertainment’s online music channel SM Station.

The entertainer who sings, composes, dances and acts, also starred in the Chinese television dramas “To Be a Better Man” and “The Mystic Nine” early this year.

Prior to debuting with EXO in 2012, Lay appeared in the Chinese TV talent show “Star Academy” in 2005.

The multi-national boy band EXO currently consists of nine members including Lay. The others are Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun. Their latest album “Ex’Act” was released in June.
