Fire in expressway tunnel leaves 22 people with smoke inhalation

ULSAN -- A freight truck caught fire in an expressway tunnel in southeastern Korea on Friday, sending at least 22 people to hospital for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

None of them were in serious condition, and rescue workers were still searching the Beomseo Tunnel on the expressway linking the southeastern cities of Ulsan and Pohang for people possibly trapped inside, officials said.

The fire began around 12:27 p.m. and was put out about an hour later, officials said. (Yonhap)
